The Challenge

Before the supervisor attended the Leader Talent, LLC, Management Development program the communication between her and another department was often confusing which led to generated extra cost and frustration on both sides. For some time (almost a year), the team complained about the difficulty in understanding the instructions from the other team; however, the supervisor was really not and committed to improving the situation.

The Solution

When the supervisor started applying the tools she learned in the Management Development program, she realized that the team had many ideas to contribute. It was important for her not just to hear the problem and give a solution, but to understand how they felt about what they were facing and to encourage them to evaluate and analyze the situation (Coaching). They brainstormed in order to get ideas on how to improve the way they used to receive the instructions. The supervisor started to work on a tool taking into account their needs. As a result of their teamwork, she designed a chart that clarified and structured the exchange of information between departments.

The Results

Loyal and satisfied customers; Preventing to generate any extra cost due to stand-by; Improving Gallup Engagement results related to Teamwork.
